Who am I? No one knows least of all me. Always a writer. Poetry first. Then short stories. Between the short stories and the novels I studied meditation and past life regression and shamanism. I moved from Cheshire back to Cumbria and a friend bought me a fountain pen and put in my hand and I wrote The Rogue Hamster, an alternative handbook for change. Still completely undermined by the enormity of a full length novel I undertook a short channelled work called Heaven Can Wait. And then along came Kevin and insisted on being incorporated and changing it to A Rat’s Tail. I began the second novel, Blood Brothers and knew it was a series and The Circular Scrolls was born.
I have been a student and a hippy, an entrepreneur, businesswoman and counsellor. I’ve been married, divorced and separated. I am a mother of one daughter. I love the grasslands of East Africa and the plains and hills of North America, sunshine, animals, food and books. I believe in freedom of thought, inner guidance and balance and change. And I’m still working at them all!
Through all this, my daughter Alex has managed to reach 19. She is easy-going, kind to animals and inadequate parents, and creatively imaginative. She has taken my ideas and interpreted them into pictures.
In my writing, I like switching between humour, poetic prose, philosophical debate, astral travel and the exploration of alternate realities. I like literature that is poignant, humorous, arresting and thought-provoking. I support no particular religion but that of self examination and doubt, hope and belief.
